Our Workshop

Olsen Creations is a small workshop in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, run by Phillip Olsen. We make personalized leather goods, laser-cut wood pieces and 3D-printed signs, using traditional materials alongside modern tools.

Leather goods

Our leather goods start with full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, including Horween leather from Chicago, the kind that softens and darkens into a rich patina as you use it. Pieces are hand-stitched with waxed thread, the edges are burnished, and names, initials or logos are laser-engraved.

Wood & laser

Lanterns, phone stands and keepsakes are cut and engraved from Baltic birch plywood on a laser, so fine lettering and details come out crisp. Many wood pieces ship unfinished, so you can paint or stain them to match your space.

3D printing

We 3D print custom signs and one-off parts. Our custom event and hashtag signs, the ones you’ll see on conference tables, vendor booths and wedding displays, have their own shop at eventhashtagsigns.com.

Custom work

Most of what we make is personalized, and a lot of it starts as a question. If you have something in mind, like a gift, a logo piece or a sign for an event, tell us about it on the Custom Orders page. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can make it, what it costs and how long it takes, before anything is made.

Because it’s a small shop, you work directly with the person designing and making your order.
